Mattie Rydalch
I have an associate's degree from BYU-Idaho, a BA in Theatre Arts from
BYU (where I minored in English and nearly in Spanish), and in 2011 I
earned my MFA in Theatre Arts (Dramatic Writing) from the University of
Idaho. I'm also an alumna of New York Theatre Intensives. I still
write plays and music, often with similar themes to what I wrote in Mrs.
Stumme's classes. I have seen my plays in Alaska, California,
Colorado, Utah, Idaho, and New York City. I am a published and produced
playwright and a member of the Dramatists Guild of America, Inc. I
often build and paint sets for plays, and sometimes I act in plays and
films, usually in comedic roles. I still draw, too. I'm working on a
graphic novel. I also work with K-4 students in Madison School
District. I have added the accordion, concertina, and ukulele to the
collection of musical instruments I like to play. I see myself as an
"artist of occasions." I longboard downhill in Rexburg and I ski in the
winter, and I also love to travel. You might find me in Yellowstone
National Park several times a year. I'm grateful for the experience I
gained ay SSHS. As difficult as high school can be at times, I know it
laid the groundwork for everything I've done since. Thanks, everyone!

After graduation I started school at BYU-I and graduated with a bachelors degree in Communications and Health Science. I did 11 pageants in the Miss America organization and put myself through college with those scholarships. I traveled a lot and had a TON of fun in college. A week before I graduated I met my husband Wyatt Sutton and it was “love at first sight....” for me anyways. Todd Holman was dating Wyatt’s sister and introduced us. So Todd is now my brother in law and I have him to thank for convincing Wyatt to take me on a date. We dated long distance through the summer while we both sold security systems in different places and at the end of the summer we got engaged on top of the Empire State building in New York City. Six weeks later we were married. Even though I had my bachelors I had always wanted to be a cosmetologist so I went to beauty school and graduated a year later. We bought a house on Main Street and put a salon in it. I work part time and love it! We have sold security systems every summer and have lived in Virginia, Texas,
New Mexico, Nashville, Indianapolis, Boise, Minneapolis, and Washington D.C.. We have had a blast living in lots of different cities and traveling. We had our first baby in May 2012 and named him Payson Patch. He is the cutest little curly haired kid and has made life that much better. Wyatt graduated in accounting in 2011 and is working on getting his CPA license. Our last 10 years have been full of hard work, adventure, and fun.
We have had a lot of changes in this last year. We sold our house on Main Street in Rexburg and bought a house in St. Anthony (I know can you believe it!!??) I hate to tell people that I live in St. Anthony but I'm basically in Salem so that makes me feel better :) My very first question I had when we looked at the house was "can our kids go to Sugar?" When the answer was yes we were sold. We love where we live and can't wait to develop the land and put some horses on it. We also had a baby girl in April 2014 Harley Jo. She is so fun and we love having a girl. We moved to Baltimore right after I had her for a couple months so Wyatt could sell Pest Control. We had a great time touring the east coast again. We are now back home and settled. Wyatt started working at Schwendiman, Sutton, and Simmons again and I will start doing hair again at the end of the summer. Life is great!

I started college at BYU-I about 3 weeks after we graduated, and
eventually graduated with a BA in Psychology with minors in Business
Management and Health Science. Up until right before I had my third
baby, I had been working on and off part time for the past 6 years for a
counseling agency doing PSR. (Psycho-Social Rehabilitation. I would
help kids, and a few adults, with behavioral issues learn how to
function better). I basically have just worked enough to keep up my
licensing. :) About half way through college, I met my husband, Spencer,
and we were married on October 21, 2005. We have three beautiful little
girls who are our pride and joy. We never thought we would end up
staying local, but we bought a house in Sugar about 2.5 years ago and we
are loving it! Life is so good!

My first semester at Utah State I met my husband Jarom, but it took me
nearly a year to convince him to date me. FINALLY he agreed to go out
with me and the rest is history. We were married December 18, 2004 in
the Logan Temple. In 2005 I graduated from Utah State with a B.S. in
Economics. My last semester was completed online while Jarom was
attending dental school at USC. 8 years and 4 daughters later, we are
currently living in Ft. Bragg, NC. As far as military life goes, I have
it pretty easy being married to an Army Dentist who has yet to deploy.
Living far from home and family is never easy, but I've learned that you
can build a happy home anywhere.

Since leaving SSHS, I have had many great opportunities. In the October directly following SSHS graduation, I left for a mission to the Guatemala City North Mission. While on my mission, I became ill and was diagnosed with Gillian-Barré Syndrome which forced my return to Idaho in March of 2005. After making a full recovery, I began attending BYU—Idaho. While there, I met my lovely, talented, beautiful wife Shelley (FYI: I met her in my very first class on my first day at BYU-I!).
Shelley and I both completed our bachelor’s degrees at BYU-I in 2010; she with a degree in child development and me with a degree in mechanical engineering. Two of the most important events that occurred in my life prior to leaving BYU-I was the birth of my daughter Lily (5) and son Levi (3). Following Levi’s birth—which happened two weeks prior to my graduation, I took a job in Idaho Falls working for a mechanical engineering firm. In April 2011, I left my job in order to pursue an opportunity to continue my education.
In May 2011, my family and I moved to Stillwater Oklahoma where I began graduate school at Oklahoma State University. I finished my master’s degree in May 2013 after which I was presented with another opportunity to continue advancing my education. I begin work on a PhD in September of 2013.
Regardless where my life has taken me over the last 10 years, I still feel like the same Idaho farm boy that grew up and went to school at SSHS. The red truck I had in high school is still running strong, despite the 200k miles it has on it. I’ll never forget the good times Richard, Corbet, and I had “movin’ the truck.” Here’s to the great times we had!
Good luck to you all and I wish you the best!

After graduation, I worked at the Credit Bureau for two years. After
that, I began working at the Bank of Commerce until 2012. It was my
pleasure to work with Kelsie Palmer Munns for 3 years, and she became
one of my best friends. In 2006, Carrie Hassman Miller and her family told me they knew
the perfect man for me. They were right, and we were married November
2006. Since then, we have just been enjoying life. We visit Mexico a
few times a year to see Kellen's family. In 2011, we welcomed our first
baby and the love of our lives. I now spend my time enjoying being a
mom and wife and all the excitement that brings.
In the ten years since graduation, I have learned that life is too short to hold grudges. We should live in the present and make the best of what life has to offer.

In the Fall following graduation I met Marc Dalling.
We were married a year later and two years after that we welcomed our
first daughter. I graduated with my Associates in Architecture a week
after she was born. Our second daughter was born a few months before
Marc finished his RN degree. We moved to Twin Falls for a year and then
Orem for two years. Our third baby girl was born there. After finishing
the required amount of working time as an RN, Marc was accepted into
CRNA (Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist) grad school in Naples, FL. He will
finish school in Feb. 2015. I have been lucky enough to be a full time
mom and enjoy doing some photography as a hobby.

Shortly after graduation I got into trouble with the law and was in jail
for a few months. After being released and straightening out my life I
found a new love in my life. My RMZ450 became my new best friend. We
went out almost everyday and would hang out with my buddies. I was
working construction and just having a good time. Work took me to
Florida and Hawaii for a while. Lets just say not a lot of work was done
everyday.
In the winter of 2006 I met my beautiful wife Kim. We dated for a while and decided to tie the knot. On September 13, 2007 we were married in the Idaho Falls temple. Both of us worked and we tried to just enjoy what life was throwing at us. Work in the construction industry was dying down in our valley which left me with little work. Kim was working hard in retail in a demanding position. Kim and I found out that we were expecting our first son the fall of 2008. In June of 2009 Carson joined our small family. With no job and a family to support I searched for work outside the snake river valley. A postal carrier route came open in Mackay. With the help of family I was able to get the contract.
In October of 2009 my small family moved to the Lost river Valley which allowed Kim to be a stay at home mom. Work consumes most of my day leaving a few short hours to enjoy my posterity. Logan, my second son joined our family in November of 2010. The following year we bought a modest house with some land in the old town site of Leslie. I still have the contract route for the post office which takes me to Salmon and back everyday. I look back at my life and think how funny it is where life takes you and who you find along the way. Threw work and various activities I have run into many of our class. Our family enjoys camping, playing on our toys, a good movie night, exploring what our valley has to offer and just being outside. My wife and kids are healthy, active and I love them very much.

What is it?
Since I didn't get the yearbook done, I figured this would be a good way for everyone to be able to read a little bit more about where everyone is and what they're up to. It can also be a place to post announcements and put out ideas (in addition to the facebook page since not everyone is on facebook). Let your classmates know and let's all keep in touch and be prepared for a really great class reunion next time it comes around.
